Can Breastfeeding be done after breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation can be done after breast feeding. However, there are some factors to consider. Breast augmentation can be done by most women. However, you should still consult your doctor and lactation consultant. Breast milk contains lots of nutrients. It is possible to supplement your breast milk with formula. This is not always necessary. There are times when you might feel nervous after breast augmentation surgery.

Breast augmentation by fat transfer

It is unlikely that the location of incisions made during breast augmentation with fat transfers will have any impact on your ability as a nurse. These incisions measure approximately three millimeters long and are located in the inframammary fold just below the nipple. These incisions don't touch the nipple and won't cause any discomfort or letdown.

Fat that has been harvested during a previous procedure may act as a permanent graft or 'filler.' The fat cells in a fat transfer procedure are permanently attached to the breast, but most of them will eventually be absorbed by the body. If the fat cells aren't distributed properly, this can lead in uneven results. To avoid overly damaging fat cells, the fat that is collected during the procedure can also be taken under low pressure.

Breast implants

Lack of research into the relationship between breast implant placement and breastfeeding may contribute to this concern. The Western culture sees the breast as a sexual organ. Advertising often suggests that formula and breast milk are equal. Research is still needed to understand the psychosocial and physical causes of decreased breast-feeding capacity. However, these research findings suggest that there is an important balance to be struck between health risks and the benefits.

Although most breast augmentation procedures follow the same incision procedure, some surgeons may use different incisions. For example, breast augmentation involving fat transfer requires an incision approximately three millimeters. The incision is typically made at the inframammaryfold. The incision is not required to be placed next to the nipple. It does not interfere with the letdown reflex or sensation.

Incisions around areola

These incisions located around the areola during breast augmentation are also known as periareolar. Because they are so close, these incisions make it ideal for breast augmentation with implants. They also prevent the surgeon from cutting the nerves that run through the areola, which can be problematic if you breastfeed. Plastic surgeons can also make this type of incision if they know how to properly plan it.

Often, the incisions surrounding the areola are hidden. The gradual transition from dark to light skin is possible. Although the incision may not be obvious for several months, it will eventually disappear. Patients will not experience any pain or sensation loss after the procedure. The recovery process of a breast lift is the same as that of augmentation.

Attempting to breastfeed after breast augmentation

There is some ambiguity about breastfeeding after breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is not uncommon. However, women with breast augmentation may have a lower or higher success rate breastfeeding. Cruz and Korchin looked at both breastfeeding attempts and failed ones in one study. The rates of breast augmentation and non-breast augmentation were almost identical at two weeks. There was no difference in the types of incisions used between the two groups, according to the authors. The three studies showed that women who had breast augmentation had a lower likelihood of exclusively breastfeeding.

How soon after your breast augmentation, you can breastfeed. Generally, basic recovery is completed within a few weeks, but it may take longer for small nerves and blood vessels to connect. After your body has completely healed from surgery, breastfeeding should be avoided. Breast augmentation should be completed at least two years before women attempt to conceive. This will allow your body time to heal and decrease the chance of complications with milk supply.
